Description: Structures Moonshot: UK National Highways project in collaboration with Atkins-Jacobs JV, to test innovative technologies for measurement and condition assessment of post-tensioned bridges
GScan’s muFLUX Infra AI scanning solution is used to measure a sample module of demolished post-tensioned bridge, to map the internal geometry of reinforced concrete structure and collect data regarding the changes in condition. Utilising natural radiation particles, our screening equipment can detect damages to internal structures and changes in chemical composition induced by carbonation, chloride ingress, and corrosion.
Following indicators and threshold values will be used for the measurement process performance assessment:
Detection of rebars, ducts, tension rods, corrosion (location, extent)
Spatial resolution 1 mm -> measurement error 5 mm
Measured volume 1m3
Efficient data collection time less than 168 h (7 days)
Project current status: on–site works completed including measurements and data collection. Data analysis, 3D reconstruction of internal geometry and interpretation of results in progress -> expected final report Dec 2023.
